Book 25, Question 148
Why do so many people in cities live in apartments?
In a crowded city, land is limited and expensive.
Apartments stack homes on top of each other so that more families can live close to work, schools, and shops. Shared walls and floors keep buildings warmer, because there is less outer wall exposed to the cold. Many people can share the same elevator, heating system, and water pipes.
