Book 25, Question 134
How do map layers help planners?
Planners use computer mapping, called GIS.
Each layer of the map shows one kind of information: roads, pipes, trees, parks, flood zones, or buildings. By stacking layers, planners can see where problems and opportunities lie. For example, they can find areas far from parks or places likely to flood. Maps help them make wise choices.
