Book 25, Question 88
Why do cities plant trees along streets?
Street trees give shade, which can make a sidewalk many degrees cooler on a hot day.
Leaves catch dust and soak up rain so storm drains do not overflow. Trees give homes to birds and insects, make streets quieter, and are nice to look at. Many people say neighborhoods with trees feel happier. A tree is a helper that never takes a day off.
