Book 25, Question 71
How does a water meter count how much water you use?
A water meter sits on the pipe entering a building.
Moving water spins a small disc or wheel inside it, and each turn means a certain amount of water has passed. Gears turn the numbers on a dial. Newer meters use sound waves or send data by radio. The water company uses the numbers to calculate the water bill.
