Book 25, Question 36
How does a phone know how slow the traffic is?
A phone uses signals from satellites to find where it is.
When many phones in cars are moving slowly on the same road, the map app can see that the road is crowded and color it red. It uses this to suggest faster routes. The information is combined, and the app can learn the usual patterns of busy times.
