Why Can You Hear a Clear Echo in a Canyon but Not in a Forest?
An echo is a sound that bounces off a hard surface and comes back to you! In a canyon, tall flat rock walls send your voice straight back. In a forest, trees and leaves scatter and soak up the sound, so hardly any returns.
