Book 11, Question 140
Why Do Bird Windows Need Stickers?
Bird windows need stickers because birds cannot tell that glass is solid! Glass can reflect trees and sky, or look like an open path. Stickers help birds see a barrier.
More fun facts
- Birds struggle to see glass, so windows act as invisible barriers.
- Reflections of sky or trees on a window can look like a safe flight path.
- Stickers help birds see windows as solid while people can still see out.
- Many people put decals on the inside of windows, but experts say the outside works better.
- At night, city lights can confuse birds and draw them toward lit windows.
- Hanging beads or mobiles can also break up reflections.
