Intro

Hi! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. Why do yesterday and tomorrow feel different?

The Big Idea

You can remember yesterday, but you can't remember tomorrow! Yesterday leaves clues. Tomorrow is made of plans. Your brain keeps them in different drawers. Let's open them, one at a time.

Step 1

Step 1: yesterday leaves clues. Footprints, photos, notes, and memories all tell what already happened. You can look back at them, and learn. They are real evidence, even though the moment is gone.

Step 2

Step 2: today can measure. Today is when you can use a clock and a ruler, and write things down. Now is the hinge between yesterday and tomorrow. Whatever you do now becomes a clue for later.

Step 3

Step 3: write a plan, and test it when tomorrow arrives. Plans look forward. You write a checklist for tomorrow. When tomorrow comes, you check what happened, and learn from it. Was the plan a good one?

A Closer Look

Imagine your mind as a set of drawers. The top drawer holds your memories of yesterday. The middle one is for what's happening now. And the bottom drawer holds your plan list for tomorrow. Yesterday is a memory, and tomorrow is a guess we get to test.

Quick Facts

Quick facts! A notebook lets tomorrow inherit yesterday's clues. Feelings about time are real. They're just not the same as the clock. Scientists often use yesterday's data to make tomorrow's predictions. Weather reports work this way. If worries about tomorrow feel heavy, talk to a grown-up.

Think Like a Scientist

Now, think like a scientist! Ask: what can you do today that yesterday cannot change? And ask: why write a plan down? Try it at home: write one thing you learned yesterday. Then write one plan for tomorrow, and check it off! That's time travel with a pencil.
