Why do kids use smaller balls and lower nets?

What Crafty Clover says in this video

Intro

Hi there, curious minds! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. Why do kids use smaller balls and lower nets?

The Big Idea

Kids often play with smaller balls! And the nets are lower. Why is that?

Good Form

Step one: Good Form. Equipment sized for kids helps them learn the right technique with fewer injuries. A lighter basketball and a lower hoop let a child shoot with proper form instead of heaving the ball.

More Touches

Step two: More Touches. Smaller soccer balls and smaller fields mean more touches for every player. More touches means more practice and more fun.

Growing Up

Step three: Growing Up. As players grow, the balls, nets, and fields get bigger. Adjusting equipment to fit the player is smart design.

A Closer Look

Let's take a closer look! Easier to shoot. Good form. More touches. More fun.

Quick Facts

Quick facts! Youth leagues have size rules for balls and fields. Right size means good form. Fewer injuries too. Gear grows with you.

Think Like a Scientist

Now, think like a scientist! Set a bucket on the floor. Toss rolled socks in ten times. Put it on a low step and try again. Then try it a little higher. At which height do you shoot best?
