Book 28, Question 87 · Video
Why are kids careful with heavy weights?
Growing bones have soft areas near their ends called growth plates, where new bone is made. These areas are weaker than the bones around them. Lifting very heavy loads or twisting under pressure could hurt them. Kids can build strength safely with their own body weight, such as push-ups, squats, and climbing, under a grown-up's supervision.
