How can a team work well on an invention?

What Crafty Clover says in this video

Intro

Hi there, curious minds! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. How can a team work well on an invention?

The Big Idea

Many great inventions were made by teams! But teamwork takes skill too. Let's learn how.

Roles

Step one: Roles. Teams share many ideas and skills. Give everyone a role, such as builder, tester, drawer, and recorder, and switch roles sometimes.

Listening

Step two: Listening. Listen to each person and agree on a plan before you start. If you disagree, test both ideas.

Kindness

Step three: Kindness. Respect and kindness matter just as much as clever thinking. Many famous inventions were made by teams working together over years.

A Closer Look

Let's take a closer look! Builders make it. Testers try it. Drawers sketch it. Recorders write it down.

Quick Facts

Quick facts! A team's different viewpoints help catch mistakes. Switch roles sometimes. Test both ideas. Be kind to teammates.

Think Like a Scientist

Now, think like a scientist! With friends, build a tall tower from newspaper. Give each person a role. Build for ten minutes. Then switch roles and build again. Which round went better?
