Book 26, Question 140 · Video
How do you improve an invention again and again?
Making something better in steps is called iteration. Build a version, test it, find what's wrong, and fix it. Then build version two and test again. Each round teaches something. Write down changes so you can see what helped. Some inventions go through hundreds of versions, but even three rounds can make your project much better.

Intro
Hi there, curious minds! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. How do you improve an invention again and again?
The Big Idea
Your first version probably won't be perfect. That's okay! Inventors improve things again and again.
The Cycle
Step one: The Cycle. Making something better in steps is called iteration. Build a version, test it, find what's wrong, and fix it.
Version Two
Step two: Version Two. Then build version two and test again. Each round teaches something new.
Keep Notes
Step three: Keep Notes. Write down changes so you can see what helped. Some inventions go through hundreds of versions, but even three rounds can make a project much better.
A Closer Look
Let's take a closer look! Make it. Try it. Spot problems. Do it again.
Quick Facts
Quick facts! Iteration means repeating a cycle of making and improving. Track every change. Three rounds help a lot. Don't give up.
Think Like a Scientist
Now, think like a scientist! With a grown-up, make a paper airplane. Test it by throwing gently, away from faces. Make three improved versions. Measure how far each flies. Which one flew farthest?
