Intro

Hi there, curious minds! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. What is a smart city?

The Big Idea

Some cities are getting smarter! They use sensors and computers. What is a smart city?

Sensors

Step one: Sensors. A smart city uses sensors and computers to help things run better. Sensors can count traffic, find water leaks, track free parking spots, or warn of floods.

Apps

Step two: Apps. Apps share bus arrival times. The information helps workers fix problems faster and plan better.

Privacy

Step three: Privacy. Cities also need to keep people's personal information private and safe. Smart cities must be careful as well as clever.

A Closer Look

Let's take a closer look! Count cars. Find leaks. Spot parking. Warn of floods.

Quick Facts

Quick facts! Some smart trash cans tell workers when they are full. Apps show bus times. Privacy really matters. Lights dim smartly.

Think Like a Scientist

Now, think like a scientist! Imagine one sensor to help your school. What would it measure? Where would you put it? How would it help? Draw your sensor invention.
