Intro
Hi there, curious minds! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. How long does it take to get a plane ready between flights?
The Big Idea
Planes do not rest for long. A turnaround can take under an hour. Teamwork makes it happen fast!
Empty and Clean
Step one: empty and clean. Passengers get off, workers clean the cabin, and bags are unloaded. The plane must be clear before the next jobs begin.
Refill
Step two: refill and restock. Workers add fuel, bring food and water, and check the plane. Everything must happen in the right order so nothing is missed.
Load and Board
Step three: load and board. New bags go on, the next passengers board, and the crew finishes checks. Pilots and crew do their own checks while ground workers work.
A Closer Look
Let's take a closer look! Passengers leave the plane. Workers clean the cabin. Fuel and meals go on. New bags and people board.
Quick Facts
Quick facts! A quick turnaround can take as little as 30 to 60 minutes. Passengers get off while workers clean and unload bags. Fuel, food, and water are added before new bags go on. Pilots and crew do checks while ground workers work too.
Think Like a Scientist
