Why Do We Need Friends?

What Crafty Clover says in this video

Intro

Hey there, curious minds! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. Why do we need friends?

The Big Idea

Human brains are built to be part of a group, like a pack. Friends share play, they help each other, and they help each other feel calm. That is why friends matter so much.

Humans Live in Groups

Step one: humans live in groups. Long ago and still today, people survive and grow better together. Sharing food, jobs, and ideas makes everyone stronger. Families, teams, and classes are all groups.

Friends Make Hard Days Lighter

Step two: friends make hard days lighter. A good friend listens, supports you, and helps you feel better. Even a small hug or kind word can feel like sunshine on a rainy day. Even one friend can make a big difference.

Play Builds Skills

Step three: play builds skills. When friends play, they solve problems, take turns, and learn together. That practice helps you get stronger in mind and body. Playing together also helps us learn to share.

A Closer Look

Let's take a closer look at belonging, the fourth reason. Belonging means feeling included in the group. Being included can lower stress in your body. And that helps you feel safe and steady.

Quick Facts

Quick facts! One kind friend can matter more than a huge crowd. Friends can be new, old, or even far away. Being a good friend helps you, too. And it is okay to take time to make friends.

Think Like a Scientist

Now, think like a scientist! Think about a friend you like. Name one thing that friend does that helps you. Maybe they listen, share, or make you laugh. Then think of one thing you do that helps them.
