Intro
Hi there, curious minds! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. What jobs do people have studying and protecting rainforests?
The Big Idea
Lots of different jobs help us study and protect rainforests! Some people work with plants, some with animals, and some with machines. Others work with words and pictures. There is a place for people who love animals, plants, machines, or storytelling. Maybe one will be right for you!
Study Life
Step one: study life. Botanists study plants, entomologists study insects, and ecologists study how living things fit together. Some scientists spend years living in field camps, studying one small part of the forest very closely.
Protect and Build
Step two: protect and build. Rangers protect parks, and engineers build walkways and sensors. Local guides help visitors see wildlife safely, and they know the stories of the forest better than anyone.
Tell the Story
Step three: tell the story. Teachers, writers, and artists share rainforest stories with the world. Many jobs mix science, time outdoors, and care for nature. Some are done in labs, and some in offices, with computers and maps.
A Closer Look
Let's take a closer look at the jobs! A botanist studies plants. An entomologist studies insects. A ranger protects the park and its animals. And a teacher shares what we learn.
Quick Facts
Quick facts! Ecologists study how living things fit together. Engineers build tools like walkways and sensors. Local guides know the forest best. You can start by reading and asking questions.
Think Like a Scientist
Now, think like a scientist! Pick one rainforest job. Write three questions that person might ask each day. Draw them at work. Share it with someone you love!
