Intro

Hi! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. Why go to space at all?

The Big Idea

Space is far away, cold, and hard to reach. So why do people work so hard to go there? Because space helps us learn, helps us every day down here on Earth, and makes our curiosity soar! Let's explore the big reasons!

Learn How Earth and the Universe Work

Number one: to learn how Earth and the universe work. From space, scientists can study the planets, the stars, and even our own home planet. Seeing Earth from above helps us understand our air, oceans, and ice.

Weather, GPS, and Science Tools Live There

Number two: weather, GPS, and science tools live there. Thousands of satellites circle Earth. They help forecast the weather, and guide maps with GPS. They even beam TV shows and phone calls around the world!

Curiosity Pulls Humans Outward

Number three: curiosity pulls humans outward. People have always wanted to see what's over the next hill, across the ocean, and beyond the sky. Exploring space inspires new ideas, new inventions, and new dreams!

Our Planet From Space

Let's look at our planet from space! From up high, we can watch giant storms swirl across the oceans. We can check on forests, farms, and melting ice. And we can see how thin and precious our air is, like a soft blue blanket!

Quick Facts

Quick facts! Space photos help track storms, and help farmers care for their crops. Astronauts on the International Space Station circle Earth about sixteen times every day! People have lived on the space station, nonstop, since the year 2000. And memory foam, used in pillows and helmets, came from space research!

Think Like a Scientist

Now, think like a scientist! Name one question that only space can answer. Is there life on Mars? What's inside Jupiter? Write your question down, and draw a picture of the spacecraft you'd send to find out. What tools would it need? Maybe one day, you'll be the one who finds the answer!

Outro

We go to space to learn, to help life on Earth, and to follow our curiosity. Look up and wonder more! Crafty Clover can be found on Amazon Books, Google Bookstore, and Apple Books. Available for purchase or download! Bye for now!
