Intro

Hi! I'm Crafty Clover! Let's discover something amazing. Why should we care about this planet?

The Big Idea

Earth is our only home. It gives us air, water, and food! Here's the big idea: when we understand how our planet works, we can take better care of it, and it takes care of us!

Weather

First, weather is the day's mood. Weather is what's happening outside right now: sunny, rainy, windy, or snowy! Weather can change from hour to hour, just like a mood!

Climate

Next, climate is the long habit. Climate is the usual pattern of weather in a place over a long, long time, usually thirty years or more. So one snowy day is weather, but snowy winters every year are climate!

Wild Places

And wild places help make air, water, and food. Forests, wetlands, oceans, and grasslands clean our air and water. They give us what we need to live, and they're home to amazing animals!

A Closer Look

Our planet is full of amazing biomes, and each one is important! Tropical rainforests are warm, wet, and bursting with life all year. Grasslands are wide open spaces where grasses feed the world. Wetlands are nature's filter, cleaning water and giving homes. And the tundra is cold and tough, with life that adapts and thrives!

Quick Facts

Quick fact! Oxygen is tied to living things every day. Trees and plants release oxygen when they make food using sunlight. We breathe that oxygen in. About half of Earth's oxygen even comes from tiny ocean plants! So every breath you take connects you to the wild world!

Think Like a Scientist

Now, think like a scientist! Find a wild patch near you, like a park or garden. Can you name three jobs it does? Does it give animals homes? Clean the air? Soak up rain? Write them down! Observe, ask questions, and think like a scientist!

Outro

We should care about our planet because it takes care of us, and small choices today make a better tomorrow! Keep asking, keep exploring! Crafty Clover can be found on Amazon Books, Google Bookstore, and Apple Books. Available for purchase or download! Bye for now!
