Book 8, Question 111
Why Haven’t We Found Definite Alien Life Yet?
We haven't found definite alien life yet because space is vast, life may be rare, and our searches are still young! Not finding proof so far does not mean there is nothing out there. It just means we have more to explore.
More fun facts
- In July 2024, NASA's Perseverance rover found leopard spots on a reddish rock nicknamed Cheyava Falls in Mars' Jezero Crater.
- Scientists think those spots may show the rock could once have supported microbes billions of years ago, but other explanations are still being considered.
- Often the hard part is not imagining how life could make a signal, but figuring out every way nature could make something similar without life.
- In 2025, a press release claimed the strongest hints yet of life on a faraway planet called K2-18b.
- When hundreds of astrobiologists were surveyed, only 6.6 percent agreed that scientists had probably found life on K2-18b.
