Book 33, Question 113
Why does a mandrill have such a colorful face?
A mandrill is a large monkey from the forests of Africa.
It has a bright red nose and blue ridges along its snout. The brightest colors belong to confident adult males, and the colors show others in the group who is who. A mandrill’s face is like a signal flag, helping group members read each other.
