Book 33, Question 39
Why do puppies and kittens sleep so much?
Young animals sleep a lot because their bodies and brains are busy growing.
While they sleep, their bodies build bones and muscles, and their brains store what they learned that day. A puppy or kitten may sleep sixteen to twenty hours a day. That is why they play hard, then fall asleep suddenly. Sleep is part of growing up.
