Book 33, Question 36
How can a mother kangaroo make two kinds of milk at once?
A mother kangaroo may have a tiny newborn in her pouch and an older joey that now hops outside but comes back to drink.
Her body makes different milk for each. The newborn’s milk is lighter, and the older joey’s milk is richer with fat to fuel its growing body. Each baby uses its own teat. It’s a clever way to feed babies of different ages.
