Book 33, Question 34

How does a newborn marsupial find its way to the pouch?

A newborn kangaroo is blind, hairless, and about as big as a jellybean.

It must climb up the mother’s belly fur all by itself to reach her pouch. It uses its strong front arms to pull itself through fur and goes by smell and feel. The trip takes only a few minutes. Once inside, the tiny joey attaches to a teat and begins to nurse.
