Book 33, Question 11
What is special about marsupials?
Marsupials are mammals whose babies are born very small and finish growing outside the mother’s body.
Many mothers, but not all, have a pouch to hold and protect the baby while it nurses. Kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and opossums are marsupials. Their short time inside the mother and long time nursing is a different way to raise young.
