Book 32, Question 142
Are snakes and lizards related?
Yes.
Snakes and lizards belong to the same big group of reptiles. Scientists believe snakes came from lizards that lost their legs over millions of years. Some lizards, such as legless lizards, look a lot like snakes. But snakes have some special features, like no eyelids and a flexible jaw. Both are scaly, and both shed their skin.
