Book 32, Question 122
Why does an alligator’s bellow make the water dance?
A male alligator can make a deep, low bellow that shakes the water on its back so that droplets jump up.
The rumble is partly too low for people to hear. It travels far through the air and water to tell other alligators where it is. The dancing water is a visible sign of a sound you can feel more than hear.
