Book 32, Question 108
How do marine iguanas live in the sea?
Marine iguanas live only on the Galápagos Islands.
They are the only lizards that swim in the sea to eat. The iguanas dive into the cold water to graze on algae growing on rocks. Afterwards, they lie on warm black rocks to bask and heat up again. They swim with their tails swishing from side to side. They’re like tiny dragons in the surf.
