Book 32, Question 56
Why do some lizards run on two legs?
When a basilisk or a collared lizard speeds up, it lifts the front of its body and sprints on its back legs.
A long tail stretches out behind to keep it balanced, like a seesaw. Running on two legs frees the front legs and lets the lizard take longer steps. It looks funny, but it is a smart way to go fast.
