How many birds can you hear with your eyes closed?
Sometimes you can find more birds with your ears than your eyes.
Sit quietly outside and close your eyes for two minutes. Count each different voice you hear and notice which direction it comes from. Some birds sing from high in a tree, and others call from bushes. Many birdwatchers learn the sounds first because birds are often heard before they are seen.
