Book 31, Question 94

Do birds sing in different accents?

Yes.

In many songbirds, birds in one region sing a little differently from birds in another, like local accents. White-crowned sparrows are a famous example. Young birds copy the songs that they hear near their home, so a neighborhood may share a dialect. If you travel a few hundred miles, the same kind of bird may sound slightly different.
