Book 30, Question 117
What can't a filter remove from water?
Filters are good at catching things bigger than their tiny holes, but dissolved substances can slip through, like salt, some chemicals, and some minerals.
Different filters do different jobs, so no single filter fixes everything. That is why water is tested, and why treatment plants combine several steps. If you're unsure, ask a grown-up and read the label of a filter.
