Book 30, Question 57
Which fish want cold water, and which prefer it toasty?
A fish's body is as warm as the water around it, so each kind has a temperature it likes.
Lake trout and whitefish like cold water and usually live in deep lakes. Bass, sunfish, and carp thrive in warm, weedy shallows. Fish that need cold water may be crowded into smaller spots as lakes warm, so scientists keep track of water temperatures.
