Book 30, Question 52
Who eats whom in a pond food web?
A pond food web starts with algae and plants that capture sunlight.
Tiny animals and insect larvae munch on them. Frogs, small fish, and dragonfly young eat the insects, and bigger fish and birds such as herons eat those. When living things die, bacteria and worms break them down, returning nutrients to the water. Every living thing is connected by who eats whom.
