Book 29, Question 17

Which plants are easy for beginners to grow?

Radishes sprout quickly and can be picked in about a month.

Lettuce, bush beans, peas, and zucchini are also easy. For flowers, try marigolds, nasturtiums, and sunflowers, which grow well from big seeds. Herbs like mint and chives are very forgiving. Choosing quick, strong plants helps you see success soon, which is encouraging. Start with a few plants you love to eat.
