Book 28, Question 144

How can you calm your nerves before a big game?

Feeling nervous is normal.

Your body releases a chemical that makes your heart beat faster and gives you butterflies. A few slow, deep breaths can calm you down. Focus on what you can control, such as your effort, rather than the score. A simple routine like stretching, tying your shoes, and a deep breath tells your brain it is time to play. Talking to a teammate helps.
