Book 28, Question 142
How did the game of lacrosse begin?
Lacrosse began with Indigenous peoples in North America, who played versions of it for hundreds of years.
The games could involve many players and last a long time, and they were important in many communities. Settlers later wrote down rules and modern lacrosse grew from them. In Canada, lacrosse is recognized as the national summer sport. Players use a stick with a net to pass the ball.
