Book 28, Question 47
Why do football receivers wear sticky gloves?
Football receivers wear gloves with sticky pads on the palms and fingers.
These pads grip the ball even when it is wet or cold. A sticky surface has more friction, so the ball is less likely to slide away. Modern glove designs use thin materials so players can still feel the ball. A good glove helps catch a ball more securely.
