Book 27, Question 130
Can you grow crystals on a pipe cleaner shape?
Yes.
Twist a pipe cleaner into a simple shape, like a star or a heart, and hang it with a string from a pencil into a jar. A grown-up pours in a warm, strongly dissolved Epsom-salt or sugar solution. As the solution cools and evaporates, crystals attach to the fuzzy surface. After a night or two, your shape glitters. Real snowflakes are different, because they grow in clouds.
