How do machines test how long a product will last?
A robot finger can press a phone button hundreds of thousands of times.
Another machine opens and closes a laptop lid again and again. Makers do this to find out how long parts will last before they wear out. These tests are called durability or life tests. They are faster than waiting years, and show weak spots that need a better design.
