Book 26, Question 70
Who invented the snowmobile?
Joseph-Armand Bombardier of Quebec loved engines.
As a teenager in 1922, he built a propeller-driven sled. In 1934, his young son became ill when deep snow kept the family from reaching a hospital, and Bombardier decided to build a vehicle that could travel on snow. His 1937 snow vehicle had tracks and a cabin that carried seven people. In 1959, he introduced the small Ski-Doo for fun.
