Book 26, Question 27
How did a walk with a dog lead to Velcro?
He looked at one under a microscope and wondered if he could copy it.
In 1941, Swiss engineer George de Mestral came home from a walk in the Alps with burrs stuck to his clothes and his dog’s fur. It took him years of tests with different cloths to get it right. He called his invention Velcro and got a patent in 1955.
