Book 25, Question 97

How do animals cross busy roads safely?

Roads can block animals from finding food and mates.

Wildlife crossings, like bridges covered with plants and tunnels underneath highways, give animals safe paths. In Banff National Park, fences guide elk and deer to crossings, and studies show that collisions with animals dropped by more than 80 percent. In cities, small tunnels help frogs and turtles.
