Why Can a Tropical Sapling Shoot Up So Quickly?
Plants need sunlight, water, and warmth, and a rainforest has all three nearly all year. There is no winter to stop growth, so plants can keep making leaves, wood, and fruit. Some saplings shoot up more than ten feet in a year!
