Why Do Volcanoes Smell Like Rotten Eggs Sometimes?
Many volcanoes release gases with sulfur in them, and one of them, hydrogen sulfide, smells like rotten eggs. Our noses can notice it even in tiny amounts. Volcanic gases can be harmful, so stay far away and follow grown-ups and local warnings.
